Redecorating & DIY Yarn Wall Hanging Decor

Today I had a free day, so I thought I would decorate my room a bit! I’m only in this room when I’m not in school, but I still love having a nice space to reside when I’m home. I decided to go for a bit of a boho-look since my other decor was kind of dated.

As you can see I added a lot of cute little wall decor pieces. I took a trip to Hobby Lobby (my FAVE place) and I got a few trinkets. I purchased the little jewelry hanger, the gold “love” heart, the gold basket, and the star garland. I also decided to embark on a little DIY journey… here is how I made my yarn hanging decor!

1. What you need:

  • Yarn
  • Wooden rod
  • Scissors
  • String

Start by tying the piece of string on either end of the rod. This is how your rod is going to hang on the wall.

2. Cut a piece of yarn twice the width that you want your yarn to hang on your rod

3. Place the yarn behind the rod

4. Bring the ends of your folded yarn around the rod and through the loop

Repeat those steps until you have your whole rod filled!

I alternated the colors of mine. I did two thick white pieces alternated with six thinner pink pieces to create my decor!

I am soooo happy with the result of my day of redecorating! I am still going to add a few things to the wall but I’m very happy with it for now. 🙂
